Born in France. Works and lives in Vallauris

Jacotte Capron was born in 1935 and studied at the Ecole des Beaux-arts in Nantes. While on vacation in the south of France, she was invited to do an internship with the ceramic artist Roger Capron. Shortly thereafter they were married and this collaboration lasted for 50 years, until the passing of Roger in 2006. Having always been the colourist of her husband's creations, Jacotte Capron experiments with the shades and nuances that ceramics offers. This research leads her to build abstract compositions allowing to create harmonies by juxtaposing dark and light colours, matte and shiny, bright and broken tones.
