Monaco Gallery La Vitrine Contemporaine Debuts at Osaka International Art Fair 2025
Showcasing Monegasque Legends and Global Voices in the Heart of Japan.

Osaka, Japan – This weekend, the prestigious Osaka-Jo Hall, located just steps from the iconic Osaka Castle, opens its doors to the global art world with the launch of the Osaka International Art Fair (OIA Osaka)—a satellite event of Expo 2025. The fair brings together over 120 galleries from around the world, representing artists from Panama, Mongolia, Serbia, Cuba, China, India, France, and beyond.

For the first time, Monaco is officially represented at this major Asian art event through the participation of La Vitrine Contemporaine de Monaco, the micro-gallery founded by artist-curator Zoia Skoropadenko.

ABOUT

At OIA Osaka, La Vitrine Contemporaine presents an exceptional lineup of Monegasque and international talent:

  • Gérard Pettiti – A leading figure of the French Riviera’s contemporary art scene, Pettiti brings mysterious, dark-toned works on paper that evoke the spirit of Ryūnosuke Akutagawa and Japanese folklore. His hybrid creatures and symbolic imagery resonate deeply with Japanese viewers familiar with their own mythologies.

  • Zoia Skoropadenko – The gallery’s founder and a multidisciplinary artist known for provocative works, Skoropadenko exhibits her legendary and once-censored TORSO series, as well as powerful ink drawings from her current solo exhibition The Life of Yokozuna at the Taiho Memorial Museum in Teshikaga, Hokkaido.

  • Clem Chambers – A UK-born artist based in Monaco, Chambers is represented with his celebrated series Blue Boy & Red Boy, reimagining 18th-century portraiture through a whimsical, modern lens. His work has been previously exhibited in Paris, New York, and Tokyo.

  • Snorri Ásmundsson – The Icelandic provocateur and performance artist contributes his striking Orange Portraits of iconic Japanese figures such as Yayoi Kusama, Akira Kurosawa, and Yoko Ono. Known for blurring the boundaries between politics, religion, and performance, Snorri brings an engaging conceptual layer to the show.
